Between 22 July and 2 September lie ten Mexican cities, and each of them is just begging to be skated.

Tijuana, Chihuahua, Monterrey, Aguascalientes, Leon, Guadalajara, Veracruz, Villahermosa, Merida, Mexico City, Naucalpan: the Red Bull Manchado Tour is the first of its kind, and consists of ten qualifying contests and a grand finale which—fittingly—takes place in the capital, Mexico City.

Each of the ten qualifying events serves to determine the best skater of its respective region, and these have to be people with at least two talents: because each round includes two runs, one on the street and one on the ramp.

The finale in Mexico City will be a competition between the winners of the regional events, and one can expect some pretty spirited duels, with the winners looking forward to—alongside a nice bit of fame—a Sony Camcorder and a Sony VAIO computer (first place), a Camcorder and a Walkman (second place), and a Camcorder (third place).

Anyone with Mexican blood in his veins and on his elbows, with an unquenched thirst for skating fame and with a use for a Sony Camcorder, should take the opportunity to apply at www.rbmanchado.com; the site contains all current information on the Red Bull Manchado Tour. The application deadline is three days before the event. A jury of experts will decide who’s allowed to compete.
