From more than 1.100 hopeful motorbike talents worldwide Alberto Puig and Harald Bartol filtered out the 20 most promising: 19 boys and a girl. The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup now moves into the next round.
At the end of August about 165 talents between 13 and 16 years of age were invited to Valencia (Spain) in order to prove their talent before the eyes of Dani Pedrosa’s mentor, Alberto Puig, and KTM technical director Harald Bartol. After intensive consideration the experts decided on the 20 potential World Champions of tomorrow. Neither origin nor sex played a role in the decision. Also a girl, the 16 year old German Lucy Glöckner, was chosen.Alberto Puig knows what is important for the selected youngsters from now on: „The first step has been taken, now the kids need to seize the opportunity and gain experience. They need to learn and learn again.“
And here are the names of the 20 pilots who are given the opportunity to gain experience next year in the newly created Red Bull Rookies Cup:
