ADAM MALYSZ ON THE FOUR-HILLS-TOURNAMENT, HOW TO WIN IT – AND WHY HE'S CONNECTED TO THE CONTEST THROUGH A SPECIAL MEMORY.

Along with the World Championships and Olympic Games, the Four-Hills-Tournament is one of the most important goals for every ski jumper. Why is it so important for you?

The Four-Hills-Tournament is very important because to win it you have to deliver eight perfect jumps within one week.

Four events in one week – how strenuous is that really for the body and psyche?

This week is the most strenuous of the season, because, as mentioned, it carries so much importance.

Please describe the differences and the peculiarities of each individual hill – and how they fit to your personal preferences.

From the jumping point of view they’ve all pretty much become the same. Only the wind conditions are the deciding factors.

In Innsbruck in 1994 you won your first World Cup points. What feelings do you connect with that moment?

I remember Innsbruck particularly well because every young ski jumper wants to get points, and those were my first.

You won the Four-Hills-Tournament yourself in 2000/2001. Is there a moment or a situation that you particularly remember?

The last jump in Bischofshofen, when I knew that I’d won.
